You decide to drink the water. Quickly, you build a fire. You welcome the heat radiating off from it, allowing it to warm your chilled hands as you put the water over the flame. Could it boil any slower? You need hydration soon. You hear footsteps run behind you, you jump up quickly. "WHO'S THERE?", you yell. You tell yourself you are just hallucinating, and start erratically laughing. The water starts boiling, you let out a gasp of relief.
After allowing it to boil for a few minutes, you take it off the heat and quickly go to drink it. You spit it out and scream. You forgot to let it cool down. Your mouth starts burning, terribly. This is not what you wanted to happen. You feel boils start to rise on your lips, your tongue is dry and feels like sandpaper. You pinch yourself, trying to ignore the excruciating pain. Immediately your head gets light, the world around you starts to spin. What's going on? You gasp for air as you feel your throat closing up and swelling. Water. It's the water. You question why you would drink someone's water, when you weren't even sure that is what it was. You fall onto your back, hitting your head on the hard ground below you. Poison. It must've been poison. Your head throbs, you turn to the side and throw up… blood. It's warm and burns your burnt tongue. The world starts dimming around you. You feel your eyes flutter, your eyelids are getting, so, so heavy.. You close them. And don’t open them again.
